We hope to see you all when we open next Friday (July 27th)!
The High Street Arts Center, after a long and rich history as a silent movie theater and as the first “talking theater” in East Ventura County then a run as the Magnificent Moorpark Melodrama, and after some renovations by Larry Janss, it has finally come to rest in the hands of the City of Moorpark. It now serves as a community theater with rentals to several organizations such as the Miss America Organization, and film companies. Come on down and check us out, but for now read our blog!

Special Guest Speaker!
Last Monday at camp City Councilman David Pollack came to talk to the campers about being a child actor. He brought a clip of him from the movie Bad News Bears (1976) to show the kids. After the clip, the kids got to ask him, and Miss Lili (another child actor) about being in the "business" as children.

Character Bios!
On Tuesday the campers learned about characterization. They watched clips from different Johnny Depp movies and then talked about how he changes as each character. Then they wrote character bios for the characters they are playing in Honk Jr. Here are some shots of the kids writing their bios.
We hope that you all enjoyed your fourth of July! We can't wait for you to see the show in three weeks! :)
